Knife 236 San Mai River Valley Hunter
This beautiful hunting knife features a hand-forged san mai blade (layered steel with a hard inner core), featuring a Hitachi blue steel core. Blade has the River Valley Hunter profile and has been acid etched to show the soft outer layers contrasted against the harder inner core. It is a razor sharp 4-7/8" in length.
The handle is 400 year-old Dyer Oak burl, which was cut from the largest known Oak burl to ever come out of the Northwest, that weighed in at a colossal 28,900 lbs! (Dyer Oak burl photo, courtesy of Cook Woods).
The handle is shaped for a super-comfortable grip. The guard is mand-mortised dahl sheep horn with a blue, white and blue spacer stack.
The Frontier style sheath is made from 11-oz Herman Oaks tooling leather and features hand-tooled and hand-dyed oak leaves and acorns on the front. Inside, is a Kydex liner, which is custom molded to the shape of the blade and guard, so you get a secure fit. Copper rivet and tough kangaroo lacing construction round out this premium sheath.
This knife and sheath combo would make a great companion for your next hunting trip or a proud spot in your knife collection.
